On this week’s episode of Real Talk With Outperformers, Brad welcomes Bianca Carlino. Bianca is a two-time entrepreneur, founder of Glow and Gifts and Social Spark Events. Bianca and Brad talk all about building a community of entrepreneurs, passion, motivation and why traditional networking events might not always work for a lot of small business owners.


Bianca’s Journey to Entrepreneurship

Bianca's journey from a high school dropout to a successful entrepreneur is a testament to the power of trusting the process and embracing fear. Throughout her chats with Brad, Bianca shares insights into her mindset and approach to life that have enabled her to achieve her goals and make a positive impact on those around her.

Bianca had some previous experiences with networking events as a new entrepreneur with her first business, Glow and Gifts – but these experiences were less than perfect. She felt they were all very corporate-y and sales, and she didn’t fit in with her bubbly spirit!

From this, she saw a gap in the market of networking events – a different kind of networking experience that was more inclusive and engaging for solopreneurs. At Social Spark Events, the focus is not on pitching products or services, but on building meaningful relationships and providing support to fellow small business owners. The events feature guest speakers who share their knowledge and experiences, creating an engaging and enriching environment for attendees.


The role of Passion in Success

Bianca's passion for her work shines through as she discusses her motivation for staying in the seat and doing all the things she does. She mentions that she only wants to do fun things and that if she's not enjoying it, there's no point. This passion is evident in the way she talks about her various business ventures, from running events to creating personalized gifts to studying criminology and law.

Bianca's passion for her work is partly what drives her success. She mentions that she genuinely loves all the things she does and that they don't feel like work to her. This passion allows her to stay motivated and focused, even when juggling multiple responsibilities. She sees the fun things as challenging and exciting, rather than burdensome, and she finds joy in being able to unlock different parts of herself through her various pursuits.


Empowerment through entrepreneurship and support

Brad and Bianca talk about how entrepreneurship has long been associated with empowerment and personal growth.
