On this week’s episode of Real Talk With Outperformers, Brad welcomes Jules Sebastian. Jules is the co-founder of The Sebastian Foundation Charity, as well as a content creator and public figure.
In this episode, Brad and Jules talk about all things cocktails, food, being a content creator, being thrust into the spotlight, mental health & more!

Jules Sebastian

Born and raised in Adelaide, Australia, Jules describes a typical childhood riding bikes with friends and living a quiet, working-class life. As a shy child, she disliked attention and struggled with social anxiety. It was a shock then, when Guy won Australian Idol in 2003 and their lives changed overnight. Thrust into a whirlwind of fame, red carpets and media scrutiny, Jules had to decide whether to embrace or retreat from the spotlight. Her love for Guy made the choice clear, though adjusting remained a learning process

Embracing Introversion

Only recently has Jules come to fully understand herself as an introvert. Growing up surrounded by extroverts in the entertainment industry, she felt introversion carried a stigma. But she's since learned introverts have their own strengths, like taking time for careful reflection. While the world encourages extroversion and "performing", Jules knows she can only authentically be who she is - introspective, slow-paced, and comfortable with solitude. "I can't be something I'm not. I'm incapable of making quick decisions without thoroughly thinking things through," she admits. Paradoxically, Jules' platform requires a public presence. But she's found balance by staying true to her natural pace and style of interaction, whether online or in-person. Her approach may look different than typical "influencers", but it allows Jules to genuinely connect without compromising who she is.

Using Social Media to Help Others

Through sharing daily moments on Instagram, Jules has inadvertently built a supportive community. For her, posts about family, food, fashion and more are simply a way to engage with others in an enjoyable, low-pressure way. "I want to use the platform I've been given to help people however I can," Jules says. Whether through lifestyle tips, charity work with the Sebastian Foundation, or bringing a little joy, her goal is to fill her role in a purposeful manner. For Jules, success lies not in performative measures but in staying true to her values of thoughtfulness, connection and service. It's a journey still unfolding, but one that offers insight for anyone navigating self-discovery and using their voice for good. Jules inadvertently built a supportive Instagram following by casually sharing family, food, fashion and more. For her, posts are simply a way to thoughtfully engage and help others however possible.

Whether bringing joy through lifestyle tips or charity work with the Sebastian Foundation, Jules' goal is meaningful connection and service, not performative measures. Success lies in authenticity and using her platform to uplift others facing similar challenges.

Looking to the future

Two decades in, Jules remains humbled by all life has brought. She sees her story as a testimony to embracing who you are fully. While the path isn't perfect, Jules focuses on growth, gratitude and making the most of each day's blessings - lessons for anyone navigating their own journey.
